Saw this on HuffPost this morning and was truly amazed at the slideshow of her lunches over the past year. Maybe my mind is foggy but I don't remember my school lunches being that bad.
I remember them before pre-packaging. Now I realize those meals were heroic efforts at cooking large quantities of healthy food, but at the time...yuk. Nothing fresh, lots of canned vegetables (the convenience food of the day!), plenty of Jello.
She was worried to reveal her identity for risk of being fired...it's sad when being an advocate for childhood nutrition can mean losing your job. What a powerful experience.
