TTA Powerhouse

Last week, as Clearinghouse-Madison took in the cavalcade of video, photo and haiku from Clearinghouse-Maui, we looked at each other achingly and said, "I need to get out in the field."

We'll get our chance. We've gotten multicourse, meaty requests from suburban Cook Co., the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council (GLITC), and the national American Lung Association (ALA). Add the Minneapolis mentoring conference, follow-up in Wood and Ringgold Counties, and we're bumping up against capacity through mid-January, if not March 2012.

GLITC, Clearinghouse staff & partners
  • Story Circle Learn and Practice - Th 10/20, 8:30 - 3:30 in Madison (location tbd)
  • 3 Day Digital Story Train the Trainer with Creative Narrations - (dates tentative) likely M 1/9 - W 1/11 in Madison (location tbd)
  • Possible story capture around December (WPT or videographer)
Cook County
  • One Day Story Training for Model Community Grantees - T 11/8 in suburban Cook Co. Attendance capped at 80. yep. It was a surprise to Julie and me, too, expecting a max of 40 when we got on the call. Though final number may still be close to 40, we'll need multiple trainers and a game plan. Cook ambitiously hoped a story could be captured & edited by that day; we're quelling that dream unless a miracle happens, but may do limited storybooth on 11/8 with staff or a videographer, and using that morning's story practice to pick 3-4 natural storytellers.
  • One Day Story Train the Trainer - In December, suburban Cook Co. Details TBD.
  • Story capture with WPT in at least one model community
ALA
  • Story Training with Smoke-Free Horry County, South Carolina - Dates & details TBD - probably Nov.
  • One Day Story Training in Santa Clara, California - Th Dec. 1
  • Story Capture with videographer - timeline TBD
Minneapolis
  • Mentoring Conference One Day Story Training and 2X Story Booth - M 11/14
Wood County
  • One Day Training - Details TBD
Ringgold County
  • Story Capture or follow up TA - Details TBD

So yeah, it's a lot. But we're a TTA, evaluation & story production powerhouse. Let's prepare to hit the road.

  1. So glad we're movin! I'm really looking forward to learning lessons from other TA teams... it was clear our evolving TA model has much to learn about best practices for team-based TA!

  2. That is really helpful Sara to decode the whiteboard for us non CPPWers. Also, love the addition of the music video!
