Talk Story!

"Talk Story" is a Hawaiian expression for storytelling. While in Oahu this weekend, I attended the 23rd Annual Talk Story Festival's Storytelling Workshop to pick up some tips and watch three other storytelling trainers in action. The trainers were not Hawaiian (which was a surprise) and each facilitated an hour toward a specific storytelling skill. Their names were Jo Radner (Maine), Eric Wolf (Ohio), and Ruth Halperin (Oakland).

I learned a few new story exercises that I'm excited to share at future story sessions:
1) Fairytale Activity (Storytelling styles)
2) Turn a memory into a full story with 4 tips
3) Story improv games: "More/Go", "Guided Storytelling", "Group Story"
