Free Video Workshop Today

Using Web Video to Enhance Issues-based Projects

Video in the Age of YouTube

1:00 PM on Aug 11 at Sector67 in Madison (Length: 1hr)

by Gretta Wing Miller [RSVP here]

Video is an important piece of a complete marketing campaign, and can be powerful as a call to action or to relay information. Gretta Wing Miller and Aarick Beher of Downtown Dailies/blue studio create web video for nonprofits and independent artists. They have direct knowledge of some things that work and others that don’t. They plan to share that knowledge with you, to either get you started or to enhance your own video efforts.

This will be an informal workshop showing various examples of the ways some clients have chosen to publish their web video; offering tips and hints for solving some of the problems that come up when you are attempting to harness the awesome power of the internet; options for hosting your video, embedding video on a website, different ways of publishing media: YouTube, Facebook…

**SIDENOTE: There are also sessions today on Twilio for mobile apps, Expression Engine, and database development.

  1. I don't know if any of us made it to this training, but I wonder if Gretta Wing Miller is a helpful contact for Carrie/Suzanne's interviews of other storytelling trainers in town?
