Alcohol Grant Funded

Bring Awareness to Produce Real Change:
A Unified Statewide Strategy for Reducing and Preventing Risky Alcohol Use in Wisconsin

Good news...the Partnership Program awarded a 2011 Implementation to Health First Wisconsin

WCH is funded at a half time position to create a version of tobwis for alcohol partners...a very scaled down version. We are also invited participate on the leadership team to help build communications and policy infrastructure (included message testing and polling) toward the reduction of risky and problem drinking.

The funding committee stated it "believes this innovative proposal holds great potential to improve the health of the people of Wisconsin in a significant way."

  1. Big congrats to everyone involved!

Our obesity network grant was funded too! The funds will grow obesity prevention movement leadership as "connectors" to better synergize efforts between research, advocates, and coalition implementation for maximum impact and sustainability.

Securing both awards is great momentum for prevention in Wisconsin!

  2. We have a lot of work to do in our prevention efforts. We stay the course.. It's community, folks!

“There are, it seems, two muses: the Muse of Inspiration, who gives us inarticulate visions and desires, and the Muse of Realization, who returns again and again to say "It is yet more difficult than you thought." This is the muse of form. It may be then that form serves us best when it works as an obstruction, to baffle us and deflect our intended course."
