Remember Rokia? Research quoted in this article found that storytelling doesn't always work.

" Why? Too many organizations have a limited understanding of what "storytelling" means...

1. Just because your organization stumbles upon an amazing story doesn't mean you're going to tell it well. The 'how' is just as important as the 'what.'"
