Super Simple Spiced Pecan Pie (SSSPP)

Want to make a really simple and simply elegant Pecan Pie?  Try this!

(and if John has a picture of THE pie, maybe he can share it...)

* Preheat oven to 325⁰F

In a saucepan, combine:
  • 3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup dark (or light) corn syrup
  • 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
Stir over medium heat just until butter melts

Remove from the heat and whisk in 4 large eggs, one at a time

Stir in 1-1/4 cup chopped pecans

Pour into uncooked pie shell -
you can use one you prepared yourself
               or a store bought crust...
I'll post the easy directions for pie crust also

Arrange about 1 cup pecan halves in concentric circles on top, starting around the outer edge and working toward the enter.

Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake until puffed in the enter and browned around the edges - 50-60 minutes.

Cool on a rack and serve warm or at room temp.
