Prevention Speaks Ready for Prime Time

THE CHALLENGE
Let's choose 5 web upgrades that will boost the experience of new visitors referred from the CPPW training.

THE RESULTS

1) A video is featured on the front page! This content will be familiar to those at the conference, and now better displays our intentions to use video on the site!

2) We have 4 new ACT NOW prompts! These are easy engagement opportunities. Again, specifically relevant to our new conference users (they're also on their one-page handout).

3) The blog display looks different! It's an attempt to personify the blog and split up blocks of text into more digestible bits. This is currently static, so it will needs some work after this week to attach this to the CMS. Also, we'll need to create a header for each blogger (i.e. Carrie).

4) There's an interactive feature! Users can now use a form to submit their own TOP TEN reason to our list.

5) We're highlighting user-generated content with a live twitter stream. Stories hashed with #PreventionSpeaks will be featured in the right column.

In addition to these upgrades, the video slideshow is in the docket for development later in the week so it's ready when we have videos to share (target of next Tuesday). Thanks (and kudos!) to Chris for hitting two of his milestones ahead of schedule tonight!

  1. w00t! I had a lot of fun with this update. It was cool to have Kyle managing the timeline and work requests via Google Docs and feeding me Photoshop mockups on the fly. Also I love watching the #PreventionSpeaks twitter feed! In addition to Kyle and Julie, people we don't even know are contributing timely information to the PS homepage. Sweet!
